Trove
Originally a division of Graham Holdings (formerly the The Washington Post) Trove was an online web and iOS app that connected readers to compelling stories all around the web. By combining a powerful algorithm with human curation Trove allowed users to create their own personalized news feeds and broadcast their choices to their followers and others who shared similar interest.
OBJECTIVE
Enhance the user experience across mobile and desktop platforms to attract and retain a broader audience, while introducing monetization opportunities—such as targeted ads, sponsored content, and premium subscriptions—with minimal disruption to the existing experience.
GOALS
• Develop a redesign strategy for mobile and desktop, prioritizing user-centered design, intuitive navigation, and visually engaging layouts.
• Strengthen social sharing by integrating seamlessly with major social media platforms.
• Explore and implement monetization opportunities that align with user expectations and platform goals.
Comment Threads & Notifications
OBJECTIVE
Streamline the UI for "New Comments" and comment threads to enable quicker reading and faster replies, improving overall usability and clarity. Introduce real-time alert notifications for activity within existing threads, along with one-off email notifications highlighting recommended or trending conversations to keep users informed and encourage additional participation.
