The Best Places to Work

Built In's Best Places to Work is an annual list that recognizes the top employers in various cities across the United States. The list is compiled algorithmically based on compensation, benefits, company culture, and opportunities for professional growth. The list became a popular resource for job seekers looking for top employers in the tech industry.

OBJECTIVE
Develop and implement a comprehensive visual branded campaign, including a distinctive logo, along with a flexible front-end interactive list and a back-end application tracker capable of seamless integration across various lists and locations.

GOALS
Replatform the existing Company profiles and move them from Drupal to Golang and Vue. js
• Create additional tabs for companies to highlight their various offerings
• Create upsell opportunities and a seamless experience for all size and location.

The original list started in Chicago, IL in 2016 and highlighted 100 of the best local companies to work for. Offering great benefits, culture and competitive salaries the annual report quickly became a success for both customers and users alike.

These marketing design initiatives were lead by Shannon Duke and Dianne Lombard.

Building a Flexible List UI

OBJECTIVE
Redesign an existing Drupal page to create a flexible card-based template for the "Best Places to Work" winning lists. The original long-form blog was transformed into a dedicated awards page, resulting in improved SEO, richer company details for easier comparison, and a centralized hub for all award lists from previous years. The new design featured an accessible dropdown menu and a switcher in the left-hand rail, delivering a seamless and user-friendly browsing experience.

Customer Featured Enhancements

OBJECTIVE
Develop a customer-focused tracker that allows applicants to easily check their eligibility status, monitor remaining tasks, and view overall progress for their Best Places to Work application—ensuring they’re considered for all relevant featured lists.
